About The Role
As a Technical Sales Manager, you’ll be joining a dynamic and driven team, reporting directly to the directors. You will spend your time working from home developing new business (70%) and managing existing accounts (30%), continuously hunting for new markets, clients, and partnerships. Your keen eye for identifying customer requirements and specifying potential solutions will be essential in preparing accurate and detailed quotations that will help drive sales growth.
Your technical expertise will be invaluable in generating technical plans and liaising with manufacturers to obtain specification approval. By supporting customer needs throughout the entire sales process, you’ll ensure that delivery times are met and that customers are satisfied with their purchases. If installation is required, you will oversee the process to ensure that everything is set up correctly and to the customer’s satisfaction.
As a self-motivated individual, you’ll be given the autonomy to set your own turnover and personal growth targets. Provided with the support and resources you need to succeed, you are expected to take ownership of your role and drive results.
This is not a people management role.
About You
The ideal candidate is someone who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in motion control, automation, and logistics technology, with a background in either mechanical engineering or sales.
While a HNC, HND, or degree in Mechanical Engineering is not essential, a strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand complex technical solutions is a must.
As a self-motivated individual who is comfortable with long sales cycles, you’ll need to be methodical, structured, and process-driven to succeed in this role.
You should be able to work independently, but also thrive as part of a team. With excellent communication skills, you’ll be able to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike, and you’ll have the ability to maintain a CRM system with good attention to detail.
