We were approached by a specialist HVAC manufacturer who are globally recognised for their technical solutions, innovative design and reliability in the market. The client engaged us to find a Marketing Campaign Manager, following various unsuccessful attempts by three other recruitment businesses over several months.
Initially, we conducted a detailed discussion with the hiring manager to not only understand the requirements but also where other recruiters had fallen short. It was evident early in the conversation, that they needed somebody with a focus on ensuring lead, demand and growth generation campaigns achieved their objectives.
With most marketing positions being relatively generalist, lead generation would typically make up 15-20% of their role and this is where the challenge lay. With such a challenging brief we created a detailed hiring strategy including an advertising and headhunting campaign. We identified organisations within the region with a similar marketing setup and conducted several interviews with potential candidates.
With it being an extremely candidate-driven market and with most not actively looking for opportunities, we spent a large amount of time upselling our client’s business and the opportunity. This resulted in us unearthing two potential candidates.
After the client had conducted a thorough assessment and initial interviews with both candidates, they invited one to final interview and we were successful in securing an offer. The candidate who secured the position specialised in lead generation campaigns and held twelve years of experience with a direct competitor.
Throughout the clients’ full search process, we were the only recruiter to have put forward a candidate that was of high enough quality to reach a final interview. We were approached by a sensor manufacturer to act as a retained recruitment partner for its OEM Sales Manager opening based in France. The client had been unimpressed with two French recruitment businesses who for three months had been unable to deliver the assignment due to the niche skills and market expertise required. We’d already worked with the client for a number of years supporting the UK operation on a contingency basis, so they gave us the opportunity to do better.
