About The Role
Covering the UK, you will spend each day in the field installing, maintaining and repairing my client’s equipment for a wide range of customers.
Due to the nature of the sites you will be visiting, you will likely work as part of a team of 2 and will be responsible for:
- Installing and commissioning mechanical equipment.
- Fault-finding / diagnosing potential issues with current equipment.
- Repairing / troubleshooting existing equipment on site.
- Generating accurate reports, analysis, and spares lists.
- Liaising with and updating clients at the site.
- Communicating with in-house Service Coordinators.
- Submitting reports, timesheets, and expenses in a timely manner.
- Maintaining company tools, equipment, and vehicle.
- Aiding the in-house Workshop Engineers when required.
About You
It is essential you have completed a 3-year apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and secured a relevant qualification such as HNC, HND, NVQ or other certification of Higher Education.
Whilst it would be advantageous to have spent further time served in the industry post-apprenticeship, my client will still consider your application if you can demonstrate the right skills and knowledge.
Just as importantly you will have knowledge and hands-on experience with rotating equipment such as engines, gearboxes, turbines, pumps, blowers, valves, and compressors.
Whilst experience in the field / on the road would be preferred, you won’t be discounted if you have excellent rotating equipment knowledge from time spent in a workshop / manufacturing environment, whilst having the ambition and drive to work in the field and gain some face-to-face client exposure.
Due to the nature of the role, a UK driving license is essential, as is the ability to travel around the UK and spend nights away as and when required.
To fit this profile, you will be an ambitious and focused individual with great communication skills, as well as being able to demonstrate a logical and methodical approach to your work.
Other key skills include:
- Competent in Maths and English for reporting.
- Experienced working as part of a team & on own initiative.
- The ability to communicate with both customers and colleagues.
