About The Role

As an OEM Sales Engineer / Account Manager you will be operating from a home office and be responsible for covering the UK.

Operating in a mixed new business and account management role, you will develop relationships with OEM capital equipment manufacturers, who typically manufacture a range of production, food processing and packaging machinery.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding OEM customer needs and providing a suitable solution.
  • Gaining specifications of your components into their end system.
  • Developing lasting partnerships with OEMs to ensure year-by-year sales growth.
  • Nurturing existing relationships to ensure you get the opportunity to quote for future business.
  • Prospecting for new clients.
  • Organising and attending client meetings both face-to-face and virtually.

About You

It’s essential you have gained a minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience within a Mechanical Engineering discipline. This could include but is not limited to engineering components and consumables such as bearings, power transmission, idlers, pulleys, rollers, drives, gears or sprockets.

Candidates with a background in OEM sales would be at a distinct advantage, be it with a distributor or manufacturer.

An engineering education is beneficial, but NOT required.

Past success working with manufacturers of Food, Beverage, Packaging, Production, or other forms of Materials Handling capital equipment would allow candidates to transition well into this role.

A full UK driving license is essential. Other key skills include:

  • A driven sales professional.
  • A strong attitude and willingness to learn.
  • A fantastic personality with the ability to build meaningful business relationships.
  • Ability to understand and retain technical information.
