Our client is a rapidly growing business with an impressive track record in the flat roofing industry. Known for their high-quality solutions used in various large commercial projects both in the UK and overseas, they are now looking for a Flat Roofing Trainer to support contractors across the Northeast.

About The Role

As a Flat Roofing Field Technician / Trainer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Undergoing an initial 3-4 weeks training programme, including shadowing more senior members.
  • Attending prescheduled appointments (organised by a back office team) to deliver demonstrations and installation training to contractors at merchant sites across your territory.
  • Spending around 2-3 nights per month away from home.
  • Providing support to other regions when needed.
  • Setting up roofing rigs / roof mock-ups ready for your training sessions.
  • Delivering installer training to groups of 4-5 attendees (from DIYers to major contractors) who wish to secure their certification to allow them to provide a material guarantee to customers.
  • Typically find yourself at merchant sites from 9am till 3pm (Monday to Thursday) and allocating Fridays for preparation and ensuring your van is loaded with all the equipment needed for the week ahead.

About You

Candidates must be based in the Northeast / North Yorkshire region, this could include Newcastle, Durham, Middlesborough, Sunderland, York or surrounding and possess practical, hands-on flat roofing experience. Any experience leading site operatives or delivering training would be highly advantageous.

My client is open to the flat roofing system experience you possess, be it, Single Ply, Built Up Felt, Torch on Felt, Liquid Applied or Hot Melt, if you have a desire to learn.

  • Confident and outgoing personality with the ability to engage small groups.
  • Quality focussed approach to installing flat roofing systems.
  • Strong commanding personality.
  • Excellent relationship developer.
