Are you a technical sales / application specialist with a desire to gain European experience?

Ready for a new challenge? This specialist technology manufacturer is searching for a well-rounded technical/commercial professional to join their team.

This international leader is known for its engineering ability to offer bespoke solutions to scientific equipment manufacturers across the globe. They have secured key projects that have seen their technology integrated into some of the world’s largest labs.

Recognised as an industry innovator they have continually challenged the boundaries of technology to provide high-specification equipment, components and sub-systems that meet the demands of industry.

Working within a growing sales and technical team, the European Sales Engineer / Sales Specialist / Account Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Taking a lead role in supporting new (30%) and existing customers (70%) across the European territory (excluding DACH) with a focus on France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
  • Developing relationships with distributors (30%) and OEMs (70%) within areas such as Metrology, Life Science and Semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Managing and supporting existing distribution partners and also securing new partners within the territory.
  • Understanding clients’ application challenges and providing bespoke solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Conducting both virtual and face-to-face meetings (25% travel required).
  • Attending industry exhibitions and events to build market knowledge and gain competitor analysis.
  • Handling both technical and commercial inquiries from your territory.
  • Presenting and demonstrating my client’s technology, discussing the features and benefits it has to offer.
  • Handling an existing pipeline of OEM projects.
  • Working to a sales cycle of 6 to 24 months for OEM business and a matter of weeks for distribution business.

The successful candidate MUST possess past experience within a customer facing role, this could be as an Applications Engineer, Presales, Product Specialist, Product Manager, Account Manager, Sales Manager or Sales Engineer. 

This should be within a technical discipline such as, but not limited to, metrology, instrumentation, laser technology, non-contact measurement, optical imaging, microscopy, photonics, spectroscopy, nanotechnology, sensors, motion control, robotics, automation or affiliated.

Fluency in a second European language such as French, Spanish, Dutch or Italian is beneficial, but not essential, as is a technical education within Engineering, Metrology, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Science or affiliated.

Other key requirements include:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss highly technical solutions in a meaningful manner.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Access to an international airport
  • Driving license
