Following consecutive record-breaking sales years, coupled with the explosive growth in key markets, my client wishes to bolster its efforts by recruiting a sector specialist to take a dedicated and focused approach to developing sales.

  • £50K – £65K Basic (Starting salary dependent on experience)

Reporting to the Sales Director you will be responsible for:

  • Covering the UK, forging solid relationships with key decision-makers within EPC Contractors including Design Engineers, Program Leaders, and Procurement.
  • Operating in a 75% new business and 25% account management role.
  • Managing relationships with distributors (50%), EPC Contractors (currently 40% with a desire to grow this area), and OEMs (10%).
  • Understanding customer project needs and providing guidance and input on the best-proposed solution.
  • Handling both technical and commercial inquiries from your customer base. (Inhouse technical support, marketing and internal sales teams are available to assist).
  • Attending industry events, exhibitions and shows.
  • Securing orders with a value of up to £100K.
  • Inheriting a territory turnover of £1m-2m.
  • Tracking both new and existing projects.

It’s essential you possess a minimum of 2 years of electrical field sales experience, this could be within, but not limited to, connectors, cable assemblies, cable harnesses, switchgear, power infrastructure, circuit protection, motor control, drives, power distribution, sensors, transformers, inverters etc.

This must be with either End Users or OEMs. My client isn’t interested in individuals who have predominantly sold to distribution.

A related education would be beneficial but not essential should you possess the aptitude to learn.

Other key skills needed:

  • Customer focussed mindset.
  • Ability to find solutions to customer problems.
  • Self-motivation and comfortable with longer sales cycles associated with project-based selling.
  • Comfortable opening doors at design and procurement level.
  • Hunter mentality with a desire to identify new prospects.
  • Able to operate autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to listen and be prepared to learn.
  • Full driving license.
