Covering the Southeast, this specialist manufacturer is searching for a talented individual to maintain and develop one of their most important territories.

About The Role

You will typically spend 4 days in the field and the other day from home. Due to the Water companies in the area, a great emphasis will be placed on the management of these relationships and framework agreements, whilst your remaining time will be split between all remaining industries.

As the Southeast Area Sales Manager, you will spend most of your time in and around London and the home counties. You will be responsible for:

  • Gaining a strong understanding of the company product portfolio, applications, client base and current framework agreements.
  • Generating leads and enquiries from existing and new clients.
  • Maintaining and developing strong customer relationships, by way of frequent visits and providing technical and commercial assistance.
  • Managing existing water company frameworks, whilst targeting the remaining companies where such agreements don’t exist.
  • Liaising with a diverse range of customers such as Consultants, M&E Contractors, Engineers and Buyers amongst others.
  • Reviewing customer requirements and advising on potential solutions.
  • Working closely with the internal support and sales teams for technical and administrative support.
  • Following up on quotations and securing orders.
  • Providing assistance and coordination to customers from quote to order placement.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM.

About You

It is essential you have at least 3 years of sales experience selling Pumps, whilst experience managing clients with Framework agreements in place within the Wastewater / Utilities sector would be a great advantage.

Whilst experience in the field would be preferred, you won’t be discounted if you have excellent pump knowledge from time spent working internally as a Tender / Bid / Proposals Engineer on Framework agreements and have some face-to-face client exposure.

Engineering or related technical qualifications would be an advantage, but not essential.

You will require a Full UK Driving License and must be open to covering the whole of Southeast England.

To fit this profile, you will be an ambitious individual with great communication skills and the ability to retain technical information. Due to the nature of the role, it is also essential you have strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

Other key skills include:

  • Competent use of Microsoft Office, Outlook & CRM.
  • Experienced working as part of a team & on your own initiative.
  • The ability to build & maintain trusting relationships.
