About The Role

Following in-depth training at my client’s European demonstration centre, you will spend time in the field with the International Sales Manager to help understand the industry and gain an introduction to the key customers in the region.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Covering central and northern UK
  • Operating in an 80% Account Management and 20% New Business sales role
  • Building relationships with Technology Directors, Process Engineers, Professors, and Lecturers
  • Selling a range of highly complex and multi-functional research equipment across both Academia (80%) and Industry (20%).  Typical industry clients would include customers operating within sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Chemical, Electronics and Semi-Conductor.
  • Managing a regional turnover of £2m-£4m, typical order values can range from £30K to £500K
  • Understanding clients’ applications and current challenges in order to provide fit for purpose solutions
  • Promoting products at conferences, seminars and workshops
  • Achieving sales objectives
  • Handling customer enquiries
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM

About You

You will be based in the Midlands, Yorkshire, Northwest, or Northeast and possess a Masters or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering or affiliated.

Candidates will possess proven experience as a Technical Sales Specialist / Technical Sales Manager within Analytical Instruments, Metrology; Optical Measurement; Materials Testing; Hardness Testing; Materials Characterisation; Non-Contact Measurement; 3D Measurement, CMM, Coordinate Measuring Machines, Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM); Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) or affiliated.
