About The Role
A highly diverse consultative sales position. Following your training you will be based from the office 2 days per week in Buckinghamshire and 3 days per week visiting clients within the UK.
Duties will include:
- Working closely with the Sales Manager and other Technical Account Managers to enhance your sales skills.
- Developing your technical knowledge and understanding of the raw materials and ingredients used, as well as the target markets.
- Managing your diary and appointments.
- Maintaining strong relationships built over several years with existing customers (95%) and also acquiring new customers (5%).
- Following up on qualified leads to gain a better understanding of clients’ needs and applications.
- Developing relationships with R&D Chemists, Product Development, Purchasing, and on occasion, company owners.
- Working on activity objectives such as visits, follow-up reports, actions etc.
- Attending major exhibitions and events both in the UK and overseas.
- Working on a typical sales cycle from 6 months to 2 years.
About You
It’s essential you hold a degree within a Scientific discipline, this could include Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Human Biology, or an affiliated life science discipline as is the need for a full UK/European driving license.
Applicants must be fantastic communicators with an outgoing personality and enjoy working with a degree of autonomy.
Alongside the above, candidates must have some work experience. This doesn’t need to be related to the role, industry or sales. However, candidates must be able to demonstrate they have worked well with customers and colleagues. This could include retail roles.
