Are you a talented people manager with proven success overseeing and growing a European OEM sales team?

If so, are you ready for a new challenge? This specialist high-precision component manufacturer is searching for a well-rounded divisional sales manager to manage, motivate, and develop a European external sales team. (prior sales leadership experience managing a European OEM sales team is essential).

My client is a global leader in the design, development and production of components for a wide range of applications.

They offer an extensive range of bespoke solutions to meet the high demands of the industry.  They pride themselves on being the premier brand within their market and have built a strong reputation for their innovative and dynamic approach. 

They now seek an experienced Sales Manager (based anywhere in the UK – Midlands or South preferred) to oversee the OEM Sales team within Europe.

  • £85K – £100K Basic Salary (Starting salary dependent on experience)

As the European Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating from a home office with international travel within the European region.
  • Attending my clients’ UK office when required.
  • Managing and supporting a remote team of around 10 direct reports including both internal and external Sales Engineers based across multiple European locations, along with an additional 15 indirect support staff.
  • Recruitment, training, and mentoring of the team.
  • Spending 30-40% of your time supporting the sales team on customer sites.
  • Working with the Global Sales Director in the creation of a sales budget and conducting regular meetings to discuss progress.
  • Conducting weekly meetings with your sales team, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • The expansion into new markets; assisting the growth of divisional turnover by 20% over the next two years.
  • The preparation of an annual sales plan.
  • Ensuring the sales budget is achieved.

You will have a minimum of 8-10 years’ of European sales leadership experience within businesses that sell technical solutions to OEM customers.  These could include but are not limited to mechanical, electrical or electronic components and systems.

A Degree in Business Management or MBA would be highly advantageous, but not essential, as would a technical qualification within areas such as Engineering, Electronics or Mechatronics.

All candidates must possess a commercial mindset and have prior success as a direct salesperson before progressing into Sales leadership roles.
