About The Role
In line with further expansion, they now wish to recruit an Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to further enhance new and existing relationships across the North of the UK.
The role is mainly field based with circa 4 days each week spent visiting customers and the remaining day working from home.
You will manage and upsell to existing clients, whilst also developing new business, both are of equal importance.
Other duties will include:
- Completing industry-leading training
- Developing relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their current challenges and providing solutions
- Travelling across the North of the UK, typically 4 days per week but with the autonomy to plan your own diary
- Utilising an extensive customer database to help acquire new customers
- Selling a wide range of specialist products into the construction, education and industrial sectors
- Developing relationships with M&E Contractors, Local Authorities, Construction Contractors, Sub-contractors, and Commercial Building Developers
- Selling to a variety of people from Procurement and Facilities Managers to MD’s and Members of the Board
- Being the focal contact for customers from first contact to final delivery, as well as supporting with aftercare and providing technical support
- Liaise with other departments, share leads and cross sell products
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM
About You
You will be a proven sales professional with demonstrable experience in a technical sales role. You will have experience of selling into a variety of industries and ideally be experienced in selling to construction, industrial or healthcare businesses.
You will also have experience in a field-based role and be comfortable with extensive travel across the north of the UK.
Other key skills include:
- A self-starter who can operate autonomously
- Willingness to train and retain technical information about products
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to support customers after sales
- Experience in new business development and account management
- Ability to sell into all levels of customer up to business owners
- Confident and articulate communicator
- Excellent relationship developer
- Hold a UK driving license
